Improve Strength, Balance and Mobility as You Age

Staying active and strong becomes increasingly important as we age. The Living Longer Living Stronger program at Urban Personal Training helps older adults across the Central Coast improve strength, balance, mobility and confidence through safe, supportive and professionally guided exercise classes.

Whether your goal is to remain independent, improve everyday movement, reduce the risk of falls or simply feel stronger and more capable, these sessions are designed to support long-term health and wellbeing in a welcoming environment.

Australia’s population is ageing, and with it an increase in frailty and burden of disease. To help slow down the negative impact of ageing and support older Australians to improve their quality of life, Council on the Ageing (COTA) developed an evidence-based exercise program called Living Longer Living Stronger that helps older adults improve strength, balance and mobility through structured and supervised exercise.

Regular strength and balance training can play an important role in maintaining mobility, supporting bone health and improving overall quality of life as we age. Many participants also find that consistent exercise helps improve posture, coordination and confidence while making everyday activities easier and more manageable. Urban Personal Training offers Living Longer Living Stronger classes in East Gosford, Wyoming, Davistown and Wagstaffe, providing older adults across the Central Coast with a welcoming and professionally guided environment to stay active, build strength and maintain independence.

What Does the Living Longer Living Stronger Program Involve?

The Living Longer Living Stronger program consists of an initial one-on-one assessment followed by professionally supervised group exercise classes tailored to each participant’s individual needs and abilities.

The program is designed to help older adults improve strength, balance, mobility and confidence through safe and structured exercise in a supportive environment.

What can I expect?

During the one-on-one assessment, we will review the pre-exercise screening tool and ensure that you have a referral if necessary. We will also discuss your current physical activity, medical history, goals, and aspirations. Using this information, the LLLS facilitator will develop an exercise program suited to your individual needs and abilities. This assessment typically takes around 45 minutes to complete.

Afterwards, you will join a class with other individuals who also have their own personalised program. Throughout the classes, the LLLS facilitator will supervise and support participants to ensure exercises are performed safely and appropriately, with guidance provided as strength and confidence improve over time.
