Healthy Ageing Fitness

Maintaining strength, mobility and overall fitness becomes increasingly important as we age. Urban Personal Training’s Healthy Ageing Fitness classes are designed to help older adults stay active, improve confidence and enjoy a healthier, more independent lifestyle through safe and supportive group exercise sessions on the Central Coast.

Our small-group classes are tailored for adults aged 50 and over, with exercises adapted to suit different fitness levels, mobility needs and individual abilities. Sessions focus on practical movement, balance, flexibility and functional strength to help participants move more comfortably and confidently in everyday life.

Held at Gosford Golf Club every Thursday at 10:00 am, these long-running group fitness classes provide a welcoming and encouraging environment where participants can exercise at their own pace while benefiting from professional guidance and ongoing support.

Regular exercise can help improve balance, coordination, posture and general wellbeing while also supporting long-term independence and reducing the risk of falls. Our classes combine gentle to moderate exercise with a positive social atmosphere, helping participants stay motivated, connected and engaged in their health journey.

Healthy Ageing classes are designed with older participants in mind and incorporate:

Strength and Weight Training:

Strength training helps older adults with chronic diseases like arthritis, diabetes, osteoporosis, heart disease, and back pain. It relieves symptoms and improves health.

Endurance Training:

Endurance training strengthens and improves cardiorespiratory function. It strengthens muscles, heart, bones, joints, and lungs, improving movement.

Flexibility Training:

Improving flexibility through exercise can strengthen muscles and enhance blood flow, making movement easier. It can also improve posture and reduce discomfort in the spine and core muscles.

Balance & Coordination:

Balance and coordination exercises reduce falls in older people, improve stability, and enhance mental functioning.

Supportive Group Fitness for Healthy Ageing

One of the biggest advantages of group-based healthy ageing fitness is the supportive and encouraging environment it creates. Exercising alongside others with similar goals helps build confidence, motivation and consistency, especially for those returning to exercise after time away.

Our classes are designed to be welcoming, inclusive and adaptable to different fitness levels and mobility needs. Every participant is guided through safe and practical exercises that focus on improving strength, balance, flexibility and everyday movement in a comfortable, non-intimidating setting.

Beyond the physical benefits, many members enjoy the social side of the classes just as much as the training itself. Staying active in a positive group environment can help improve mental wellbeing, build routine and create lasting social connections that support healthier ageing overall.

Helping You Stay Active, Strong and Independent

Healthy ageing is about more than simply exercising — it’s about maintaining the strength, mobility and confidence to continue enjoying everyday life. Our group fitness classes are designed to support long-term independence through structured, progressive training tailored for older adults.

Sessions focus on functional movement patterns that help with real-world activities such as walking, lifting, balance, getting up from chairs, climbing stairs and maintaining stability during daily tasks. This style of training can help reduce the risk of falls, improve posture and support overall quality of life as we age.

Whether you are looking to improve general fitness, return to exercise gradually, or maintain an active lifestyle as you get older, our classes provide a safe and supportive way to keep moving with confidence.
